School is almost about to begin! The staff at Branch are excitedly preparing their rooms and getting curriculum prepared.
We know you are also in countdown! Here are some suggestions to help you and your children get ready:
1. Start moving their bedtime closer to “school hours.” It will take their brains 21 complete days to re-train the brain to sleep and wake at school hours.
2. Start minding their menu. Many summer time fast foods and late night snacks will not be the best back to school foods. Brains require specific foods to run fast-jump high-think fast and learn. Sluggish brains equal frustrated kids-They don’t get why they don’t get it…more often than not poor food choices and lack of sleep underline the causes for poor responses in class. So start now or they’ll be at school weaning off sugar and white bread in tears and tantrums. (Not a good way to begin the year, and a sure fire way to have them feel less than capable starting off)
3. Begin now pumping up school. YOU be the cheerleader! Don’t overdo but drop some positive comments. I wonder what experiements you’ll be doing next year in science. Do you think you’ll try out for chorus or theater? I know your friends missed you this summer…I’ve heard there are lots of new students in your team…(there are everywhere
!
That’s all for now. But keep checking back for Event Updates, news and other informative information.
